HOW TO DO COVID LOCKDOWN CHIC

Lock down doesn’t mean you should lock down your wardrobe too.

In fact, I’d argue this is the time to dress with intention more then ever. I spoke recently at a Doing It For the Kids meetup on why I dress up even though I work from home. It is scientifically proven that what you wear affects how you feel. I also believe you can separate your home and work life by dressing with intention. In this time of chaos, Covid Lockdown Chic is about exerting control and creativity, even more so when you’re feeling low.1. Get up and shower! Freshen up, clear your head, reinvigorate your body and feel good and purposeful.

2. Shop your wardrobe. This is the time to have a good old sort out and dust off long-lost pieces and create new combinations.

3. Stay comfortable. You’re at home now, so comfort is a priority, go for practical basics like joggers, denim shirts and tees with fashion flair, think shiny, colourful and quirky prints.

4. Accessorise. Small playful touches like a slick of red lipstick, nail polish, statement earrings or fun socks will lighten your vibe.

5. Go all out. I would be a mummy raver if I didn’t suggest dressing up in your ‘out out’ clothes, pouring yourself something fizzy and dancing to your favourite tunes.
