This is a story about the one that got away. A badass bubblegum pink H&M faux fur jacket. I tried it on, took some changing room selfies and told myself I was too short for it with no where to go in it anyway.
Didn’t I look a bit like Pat Butcher by the way of the Muppets anyway? By the time I had got home, I had changed my mind and was excited about rocking it his winter – but what was this? SOLD OUT!!
I thought long and hard about this one. I’ve had faux fur coats before, mainly leopard print which is so much more easier to wear, but then I realised that life is too short not to buy a bubble gum pink faux fur coat if you really want it.

OK, so I don’t have many opportunities to wear virgitinous heels and zip around in taxis anymore, but it will certainly brighten up the school run, keep me very very warm and give my jeans and trainers combos a ‘this lady means business’ look. How can anyone mess with the mama in the pink fluffy coat?

You see there’s a whole trend for maximalist fashion (one that I’ve always considered to be my style anyway). It celebrates colour, texture, pattern and volume. Some go the whole hog and clash to the max, I on the other hand think a few choice pieces will add a statement flourish to any outfit. This means I’m all for huge earrings and fabulous jackets all throughout the year.

The thing is there’s a new way to wear fur. It’s brash, bold and psychedelic, there’s lots of colour, dazzling prints and divine textures. It’s partly to do with the Shrimps affect that has swept over Fashion Land. Shrimps, a boutique faux fur brand, brought colour blocked faux fur coats and clutch bags to the top of every stylista’s wish list. So, bring a pink faux fur jacket into the mix and you kill it from the moment you strut out your front door.

So boo the boo hoo, what am I to do? I want me that coat!! The cost per wear will be low, because I plan on rocking that well until my 80s. It can be the Davis family heirloom, a right of style passage for generations to come. OK, but for real, there is no winter coat badder then this.

UPDATE!
So, the last time I was in H&M Oxford Street I mentioned to the sales assistant about how I regretted not buying the sell out pink coat, when she informed me there was one hanging in the changing room.
“Run Forest, Run!”
It was my size!!
