Whether it’s for the baby swimming sessions or your holidays, the summer season heralds ‘beach body’ season. All ridiculous, that I know, but one thing that isn’t is low body-confidence so many of us mums can feel with our post-baby bodies. I’m all about filling you up with the fashion tips you need to own your prowess, which is why I’ve rounded up my favourite tummy control swimsuits, that will smooth the mum tum and give you some support in style.
This is not to say there is anything to be ashamed of, your mummy body and the squashy mum tum and stretch marks, are surely worth the joy of having your children. You earned those tiger stripes ma! BUT, if you do want a bit of discreet assistance in streamlining your silhouette, there is a treasure trove of glamorous buys that will sculpt, support and give you all the va va voom of a classic pin up.
However, throw out the traditional grandma chic associations of frumpy and boring tummy control swimsuits. I’m all about keeping it directional with on trend prints, colours and details. So, don’t let your mum tum or any other post-baby hang ups get in the way of enjoying beach body confidence.
Here’s my favourite control swimsuits to celebrate your mama curves in and out of the water.
I have to start with a brand who has nailed marrying tummy control swimsuits with fashion. It was hard to choose just one, be it shoulder ruffles, zips and hi waisted bikini bottoms, Figleaves know how to clad a mum tum on the beach. I love the sporty luxe style of this design with it’s cut out back and on trend marble print top.
Orange is the new red don’t you know? Not really, but how refreshing to choose such a vibrant colour for the beach. I love the macrame detailing, which gives it a stylish 1970s finish.
Florals are having a moment in swimwear trends and I’m loving the popping blue and green combination of this design.
Bandeau or not bandeau? The choice is yours with this gorgeous printed swimsuit – I’m all over the mid-century geometric print design.
Funky tan lines aside, no one try and tell me this is not a delicatable swimsuit. Chic, easy to wear outside of a pull under a maxi skirt while sightseeing or a kaftan over drinks. Gold hoops are a must!
I’m not gonna do a round up without including some leopard print am I? And how wonderful is this design, which claims to knock up to 1″ off your waist line? Heart eyes emoji.
